A brochure gets read once. A catalogue gets opened forty times: by the buyer at the trade show, by the merchandiser pricing an order, by the customer who keeps it in a kitchen drawer until the next season. That changes what matters in print. The binding has to survive handling, the paper has to carry small product photography and a price column without the ink filling in, and the next edition has to look like it belongs beside the last one.
Those are the problems we have been solving since 2006 for homeware and gift brands, furniture and lighting makers, auction houses, wallpaper studios and the design agencies who produce catalogues for them. Victoria Eggs sends us a new A5 range catalogue most years, 62 pages on uncoated stock, made to be flicked through on an exhibition stand. Castrads went the other way: a 128 page square book of cast iron radiators at 150 x 150mm, with 50 matching product cards for customers to take home. Dee Atkinson and Harrison run their classic car sales from an 80 page litho printed auction guide on silk.
If your piece is shorter and image led, our corporate brochure printing page is the better fit. Not sure which you are making? Start with catalogue vs brochure, then come back here for the spec.
Range catalogues, lookbooks and auction guides we have printed for brands, with the full spec under each one.
Victoria Eggs design and make playful British homeware, and their trade customers expect the new range in print before the spring shows. The 2026 catalogue came to us as an A5 perfect bound book: a 250gsm uncoated cover with matt lamination outside, wrapped around 58 inside pages of 120gsm uncoated, printed in full colour.
The file arrived with a 6mm spine carried over from an earlier edition. We measured the new extent, sent back a 4.5mm cover template, and the artwork went through our online proof page by page. With 120 copies needed for early January, the approved job went straight onto the press and the catalogues reached the stand on time.
The same brand has printed a range catalogue with us most years since 2023, at 150 and 300 copies, alongside the postcards and notebooks that sit next to it on the stand. Read the full Victoria Eggs case study.

No. We print a single catalogue for a sales meeting, 20 for a trade show team or 2,000 for a mail out. Between one and 20 copies, our calculator gives an instant price; anything larger is quoted by email, normally the same working day.
For example, 100 A5 stapled catalogues of 28 pages cost £166, 100 A5 PUR bound catalogues (64pp) come to £323, and 100 A4 PUR bound catalogues (100pp) to £828, all delivered in the UK with no VAT. The table further up this page shows the same specs at 250 and 500 copies. Send us the exact size, extent, paper and run length for a firm price.
Under 32 pages in total it has to be stapled, because there is not enough thickness to glue a spine. Between 32 and 72 pages you can choose: staples open flatter and cost less, a PUR spine looks more substantial and can carry a printed title. Over 72 pages, perfect binding is the only option. Page counts for stapling must divide by four.
Sign off the proof on Monday and stapled catalogues ship on Thursday; PUR bound ones follow two days later. Litho runs over 500 copies and extras such as foil blocking need more time, so give us your deadline when you enquire and we will confirm a delivery date before you order.
In the UK, bound printed matter such as catalogues, booklets and brochures is zero rated, so our quote has no VAT added. Loose items like postcards and stickers attract 20% VAT, shown as a separate line.
Yes. Every job gets a free online PDF proof. If you want a physical copy, we can print a bound proof at cost alongside your order so the buying team can check paper, colour and feel before the main run starts. Free paper samples are available at any stage.
Yes. Tell us how many go where and how they should be packed. Victoria Eggs have had runs split between two UK addresses and others sent on to a museum shop abroad. UK delivery to multiple addresses is arranged at quote stage; overseas delivery is priced on request.
One print ready PDF with single pages in running order, bleed of 3mm on each edge, images at 300dpi and fonts embedded. For PUR binding, supply the cover as a separate spread built on the spine template we send you. Our artwork hub has export settings for InDesign, Affinity Publisher and Canva.
Anything from A6 up to A3 portrait, 297 x 297mm square or A4 landscape, including custom sizes in between. A5 and A4 are the most economical because they cut cleanly from the sheet; 210 x 210mm square and 240 x 170mm are popular when a brand wants a shape of its own.
That is most of what we do for catalogue customers. We keep the spec, the papers and the previous proofs, so a reprint or a new edition is quoted from the same recipe. If the page count changes we recalculate the spine and send a fresh cover template before you finish the artwork.
Yes. Loose price lists, folded order forms, A6 product cards and postcards can be printed on matching stocks and delivered with the catalogues. Castrads ordered 50 different product cards to sit alongside their lookbooks; Victoria Eggs pack postcards in sets of 24 for their retailers.
A catalogue lists a range so people can choose and order from it: product codes, variants, prices. A brochure makes the case for the company or a single product and is usually shorter and more image led. The print specs overlap, but catalogues tend to run longer and live longer, which pushes them towards PUR binding and a laminated cover. Our catalogue vs brochure guide covers it in full.
