London Zines and Magazines, Printed Properly

London's zine scene moves fast: a gig next Friday, a fair on Saturday, a launch party that can't be moved. We've been printing for it since 2006, and more than 850 customers across London have trusted us with their pages since 2017. Some come back issue after issue.

Issue after issue with So Young and Still Listening

So Young, the independent music magazine, has printed with us from its early A5 issues to its oversized 245 × 172mm format. Issue 57 is wire stitched with a 200gsm uncoated cover and 76 pages of 100gsm uncoated inside: light in the hand, rich with photography and consistent every single time. North London's Still Listening goes perfect bound instead, with 90 full-colour pages and its signature double covers, 25 copies of each, so readers can pick a favourite.

Artists, activists and institutions

Long Live Southbank, the skaters who fought to keep the Southbank Undercroft alive, came to us for A3 posters and A5 booklets. Isobel's Sick Love zines are made in London and travel much further, with editions on Glasgow, Kyiv and Leipzig. For the Science Museum we printed A5 stapled zines with a matt-laminated 300gsm cover, and the King's College London researchers behind Dystopia Now and Utopia Now chose 100% recycled uncoated stock for their creative-writing magazines. We've printed zines for the Barbican and Warp Records too.

Street photographers' first zines

Brij Trivedi's London Express gathered 18 months of street photography into 32 A5 pages: a 170gsm uncoated cover with matt lamination, 115gsm uncoated inside, wire stitched. It's a proper first photo zine spec that won't break the bank.

London Zine & Magazine Printing: Your Questions
Are you a zine printer in London?

We're based in Colchester, Essex, about an hour from London, and we've printed for more than 850 London customers since 2017, from music magazines and artists' zines to the Science Museum. There's no counter to queue at: send your PDF, we check it for free, and your zines arrive with free tracked UK delivery.

How quickly can you print zines for a London gig, fair or launch?

Stapled zines and booklets are with you in 3 working days, perfect bound books in 5 and hardbacks in 7, counted from approval of your print-ready artwork, with free tracked UK delivery. Lead times depend on run length and print spec. Longer litho runs and premium cover finishes take longer, so if you're working to a hard deadline, tell us the date and we'll confirm we can hit it before you commit. Stapled or perfect bound zines printed in quantities of 1 to 20 skip the proof: we check your artwork thoroughly and send it straight to print; 21 copies and over, and every hardback, get a PDF proof to approve first.

How much does it cost to print a zine?

As a real example, 100 A5 stapled zines cost around £188. Your price depends on page count, paper, cover finish and quantity. When you only need 1 to 20, our instant price calculator gives you a figure in seconds; for bigger runs, our 30-second quote form gets you a price the same day.

Can you print a regular magazine or zine series?

Yes. So Young and Still Listening both print with us issue after issue. We keep your spec on file, so the next issue is one email away.

What paper works best for a zine?

Uncoated paper gives that tactile, inky zine feel; silk and gloss make photography pop. Many London titles pair a 200 to 300gsm cover with uncoated inside pages of 90 to 120gsm. We'll post you a free paper sample pack so you can feel the difference before you decide.

Is there a minimum order?

No. Print a single test copy to check the paper, colour and layout in your own hands, then order the full run with confidence.

Do you offer recycled paper?

Yes. The King's College London Dystopia Now and Utopia Now magazines were printed on 100% recycled uncoated stock, and FSC certified papers are available across our range.
