Coventry University, a renowned institution for higher education, has always been a hub for creativity and innovation. In 2020, the university’s degree show catalogues were a testament to this legacy. The catalogues, printed by Ex Why Zed, were a celebration of the artistic journey of the students, showcasing their talent and dedication. The catalogues were not just a collection of artworks; they were a narrative of the students’ creative process, their exploration of various themes, and their interpretation of the world around them.
The catalogues were designed in a 210x210mm format, perfect for showcasing the diverse range of artworks. The cover was printed onto 300gsm Silk, wrapped over a greyboard case, and finished with a matt lamination to the outer. This gave the catalogues a premium feel and ensured durability. The inside pages, 178 in total, were printed onto 170gsm Silk, providing a high-quality canvas for the artworks. The catalogues were trimmed, collated, and case bound, ensuring a neat and professional finish.
The degree show was a virtual showcase, allowing viewers from around the world to experience the artistic brilliance of the students. The show was featured on various platforms, including the Coventry Degree Shows Instagram page and on Coventry University’s official website. The show was a testament to the students’ talent and the university’s commitment to nurturing creativity.
One of the highlights of the show was the work of Haichao Li, a student of Automotive Design. His project explored the impact of artificial intelligence on automotive design, pushing the boundaries of conventional car design. In a video featured on YouTube, Haichao talks about his project and his aspirations to become a car designer.
