The project began with Castrads’ Creative Director, Jayson Branch, seeking an affordable yet high-quality solution for their product brochure. Ex Why Zed quickly identified the main challenge: a request for perfect binding on a slim 16-page booklet. Our expertise guided the client toward wire-stitching as a more practical and durable option, ensuring that production quality aligned with Castrads’ high standards.
Throughout the conversation, Jayson expressed clear preferences for the materials and tactile quality of the paper. He sought a matt, tactile finish that complemented the understated luxury of Castrads’ brand. Our team recommended uncoated 300gsm stock for the cover and 170gsm for the inner pages—a combination that offered durability and a premium feel.
As Jayson prepared artwork, he encountered minor challenges related to colour alignment and logo sharpness. Ex Why Zed provided detailed feedback, including adjustments to CMYK settings to ensure a charcoal grey that aligned with Castrads’ brand identity would print as intended.
