In the winter of 2014, photographer Josh Jordan and his two friends embarked on an unforgettable journey across New Zealand. Over ten days, they covered 2000 miles, immersing themselves in the country’s breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture. Josh’s photobook, “Caught Off Guard”, is a testament to this incredible journey, capturing their day-to-day experiences in a way that resonates with readers.
When it came to encapsulating this adventure in a photobook, Josh turned to Ex Why Zed, a leading photography book printing company in the UK. Our team, passionate about preserving the authenticity of each photograph, ensured professional quality photobooks that would do justice to Josh’s work.
The book was designed as a 210x210mm Book. The 4pp cover was printed onto 300gsm Uncoated with Matt Lamination to the outer. The 92pp text was printed onto 160gsm Uncoated, ensuring high-resolution photobooks. The entire book was printed in four colours throughout and perfect bound, resulting in a stunning self-published book.
The result was a photobook that not only showcased Josh’s incredible photography but also captured the essence of a decade in music. The high-resolution art books were a hit, with readers appreciating the quality of the prints and the immersive experience they provided.
Ex Why Zed has had the privilege of working on several other notable projects. Our portfolio includes a diverse range of self-published photography books, each with its unique charm and story. From the streets of New York by Keith Baugh to the personal experiences in Living Lockdown by Sean McDonnell, our photobooks have captured various facets of life.
We’ve also worked on projects like On My Side by Valerie Bower and Baby Let’s Cruise by Emanuele D’Angelo, which provide a glimpse into the personal experiences of individuals. Each project, with its unique narrative and visual appeal, adds to our diverse portfolio.
At Ex Why Zed, we believe in the power of print to bring stories to life. Our collaboration with Josh Jordan on the “Caught Off Guard” project was a testament to this belief. As we continue to explore the world of photobook printing, we look forward to bringing more such stories to life.
